We will be talking about our hiking trip along the ancient buddhist Choishi Michi pilgrimage trail to the settlement of Koya on Mount Koya, Japan, considered one of the most sacred places in Japan. We will share our experience in staying at a buddhist temple, different rituals and the aura and meaning of the town in Japanese buddhism.

Andra and Jaanus Gross are nature enthusiasts and buddhistic hikers who are looking for interesting and meaningful places all over the world to discover on their own or with the family. There are many things that have drawn them to the Japanese culture and society and they have taken it upon to discover more.

Andra is currently family-oriented and expecting twins soon to be born. She is a quality engineer and manager by profession and has used the Japanese lean method that she studied at the Toyota factory in Japan. She is an archer and has taken Kyudo (Japanese archery) classes, practices reiki and loves the KonMari oganizing method.

Jaanus is a health and IT teacher at the Waldorf school and also teaches archery. He is interested in different buddhist schools in Japan as well as the country’s history and philosophies. He practices reiki and is an avid sportsman in martial arts, long distance running and archery.
